Algea O. Harrison-Hale, Ph.D., Department of Psychology, Oakland University, is a founding member of the Black Caucus of the Society for Research on Child Development. The collaborations of Caucus members and others in SRCD modified the lens through which children of racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds are portrayed in the scientific literature. She co-authored several chapters in Our Children Too: A History of the First 25 years of the Black Caucus of the Society for Research in Child Development (2006).

Tammy L. Henderson, Ph.D., CFLE, Director of Gerontology Institute & Associate Professor, Department of Human Development and Family Studies, Oklahoma State University, and is received an NSF grant to study Aging Families in the Aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Research interests include Grandparent visitation rights grandparents parenting grandchildren using Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Foster care, diversity and laws, and instructional approaches to teaching family law and policy.

Elena Herrada, director, El Centro Obrero de Detroit (Detroit Workers' Center), is a second generation Detroiter, daughter and granddaughter of autoworkers, and a grassroots activist. She is a member of Latinos Unidos and has spent several years negotiating contracts for labor unionsand the AFL-CIO Farm Labor Organizing Committee on various campaigns to bring justice to the fields.

Gary T. Horlacher, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow Andrus Gerontology Center, University of Southern California, studies intimate relationships, systems of values, gay-Mormon conflict, retirement, and caregiver burden. Underlying his research are the mathematical models identified by Rene Thom (1975) referred to as catastrophe theory. The special application of these models to irresolvable stressor situation has led to a different approach to applied catastrophe theory than most researchers have used in the past.

Charles H. Huber, Ph.D., Counseling and Educational Psychology, New Mexico State University, is a Licensed Psychologist who has earned American Board of Professional Psychology Diplomates in Family Psychology and Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology. He teaches human development, family therapy theory & techniques, learning theory, and graduate practica. His current research program emphasis is on the primary protective factors that contribute to individual and family resilience.
